Sponsoring Team Fredette

I was so proud to support Chris Moreno, our Service Manager’s son, on his newest endeavor as he joins the elite Team Fredette. Chris was one of 10 players in the country chosen to be on this basketball team. We’re wishing him the best of luck as he plays competitively across the United States!

Ken Coleman Extra Mile Award

Tommy and Carla Cosenzi of TommyCar Auto Group have been honored for their work raising money for cancer care and research through the Jimmy Fund Golf program with the annual Ken Coleman Extra Mile Award, which honors individuals within the Jimmy Fund golf community who have gone above and beyond in generously dedicating their time and energy to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

“With more than $1 million raised over the past 11 years through the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament, and with the countless other things Tommy and Carla do to give back to Dana-Farber and your community year-round, we could not think of more deserving recipients of this year’s award,” said Amy McCallum, assistant vice president at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. “Their extraordinary efforts are a key component of the Jimmy Fund’s success each year, and their longstanding commitment to our life-saving mission makes them both a source of inspiration for Dana-Farber’s patients and their families.”

The siblings were presented the award on March 5 at the annual Jimmy Fund Golf Appreciation Night at the Newton Marriott. They started the tournament in memory of their father, Tom Cosenzi, who passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumor in 2009.

“It’s an honor to support such an amazing hospital filled with such amazing doctors, nurses, and researchers,” they said, “and although our dad didn’t survive, we hope our efforts give others a better chance than our dad had.”

TommyCar Auto Reached 1 MILLION For Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

TommyCar Auto is truly honored and proud to announce that we have officially reached 1 MILLION dollars for Dr. Wen and his critical research for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Our Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament was one of two events in 2019 to be recognized on the Dana Farber Institute Benefactors Wall! We are so proud and grateful to have raised over $1,000,000 over the past eleven years in support of Dana Farber.

Without our sponsors, golfers, volunteers and generous contributors, this event would not be possible. We hope to continue to use this tournament as a way to remember Tom Cosenzi and support Dana-Farber’s world-class researcher’s work to reduce and ultimately eliminate the burden of cancer.

THANK YOU!

TommyCar Auto Group joined forces with the Hampshire Sheriff's Office, Jail and House of Corrections and Sheriff Patrick J. Cahillane for the month of November for No Shave November. No Shave November is devoted to “growing” cancer awareness; while raising funds to support cancer prevention, research, education about cancer prevention, as well as aid those fighting the battle. It’s a month long journey in which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversations, while raising cancer awareness.

The police department has a policy that prohibits beards, however, for one month this year that policy was suspended and officers were allowed to grow beards for a one time donation. Throughout the month of November, deputies and staff were given the opportunity to opt out of dress code, growing out their facial hair, for a donation of $20 to the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament, which supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The employees of TommyCar Auto Group, also joined in this campaign, donating the money they would spent on shaving to the charity.

In total, the Sheriff’s Office raised $2,700, which Carla Cosenzi, matched that amount, resulting in a donation of $5,400 to Dana-Farber.
